Oktober 2010 - Ausstellung "Arctic Perspective" nur noch bis Sonntag 20:00 Uhr zu sehen Die PHOENIX Halle in Dortmund-Hörde wird vom Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) seit 2003 als spektakulärer Ausstellungsort genutzt. Jetzt schließt mit "Arctic Perspective" die vorläufig letzte Ausstellung des HMKV in der Halle, die nur noch bis zum Jahresende durch die Stadt Dortmund (dortmund-project) vom Land NRW (NRW.URBAN) angemietet wird. Die PHOENIX Halle wurde 1905 als Gasgebläsehalle für die Hochöfen auf Phoenix-West errichtet und diente bis zur Schließung des Hochofenwerks 1998 als Reserveteillager. Im Jahr 2001 wurde Phoenix-West vom Land NRW angekauft und der Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft (LEG Stadtentwicklung GmbH & Co.KG) übertragen. Mit Mitteln des dortmund-project und der LEG (heute NRW.URBAN) wurde die PHOENIX Halle 2003 saniert. Der Hartware MedienKunstVerein hat in in den letzten acht Jahren insgesamt 15 große internationale Ausstellungen in der 2.200 qm große PHOENIX Halle Dortmund realisiert. Darunter waren so wichtige Ausstellungen wie "Games. Computerspiele von KünstlerInnen" (2003), "Nam June Paik Award" (2004), "The Wonderful World of irational.org" (2006), "History Will Repeat Itself" (2007), "Waves ­ The Art of the Electromagnetic Society" (2008), "Anna Kournikova ... Kunst im Zeitalter des Geistigen Eigentums" (2008), "Wach sind nur die Geister - Über Gespenster und ihre Medien" (2009) und "Arctic Perspective" (2010). Viele dieser Ausstellungen wurden danach an anderen Ausstellungsorten im In- und Ausland gezeigt. Parallel zur PHOENIX Halle nutzt der HMKV seit Mai 2010 seine neuen Räume in der dritten Etage des Dortmunder U - Zentrum für Kunst und Kreativität. Ab 2011 wird der HMKV - im Wechsel mit den anderen Partnern - auch die sechste Etage des Dortmunder U für großangelegte Ausstellungsprojekte nutzen. Bis zum Sonntag, den 10. Computerspiele von KünstlerInnen   -------------- ENGLISH -------------- HMKV at the PHOENIX Halle Dortmund closes on Oct 10, 2010 - exhibition "Arctic Perspective" on view only until Sunday, 8 pm Since 2003 Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) has been using the PHOENIX Halle in Dortmund-Hoerde as a spectacular exhibition venue. When "Arctic Perspective" will close down on Sunday night, the last exhibition (for the time being) by HMKV at the PHOENIX Halle will have come to an end. The city of Dortmund (dortmund-project) has rented the PHOENIX Halle from the State of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW.URBAN) only until the end of 2010. The PHOENIX Halle was built in 1905 as blower plant for the blast furnaces of Phoenix-West and served as a repairable spares storage until the closing down of the steel mill in 1998. In 2001 the State of Nordrhein-Westfalen bought the area of Phoenix-West and conferred it to the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft (LEG Stadtentwicklung GmbH & Co. KG). The PHOENIX Halle was renovated with funds from the dortmund-project and LEG (today: NRW.URBAN) in 2003. In the past eight years, Hartware MedienKunstVerein has realized a total of 15 large-scale international exhibitions in the 2.200 square meter-large PHOENIX Halle.
