Rasende Heimat
Das Zuhause als stabiler Rückzugsort? Diese Vorstellung
gehört längst der Vergangenheit an: Die Künstler
von "Rasende Heimat" kommen aus so unterschiedlichen
Städten wie Jakarta, Osaka oder Beijing, doch eins haben
sie gemeinsam: Ihre Gesellschaften verändern rasant. In
ihre Kunst ist urbanes Tempo eingeschrieben. Vertrautes wird
mit Frischem und Lokales mit Internationalem gekreuzt. Zum Auftakt
der "Rasenden Heimat" präsentieren Tadashi Kawamata
und Qiu Zhijie ihre Installationen.

7th Asia-Pacific-Weeks Berlin 2009 ° Frenetic Homeland
Exhibition opening
The idea of home as a reliable place of refuge has become
an idea of the past. The artists of "Frenetic Homeland come
from very different cities such as Jakarta, Osaka or Beijing-
but they have one thing in common: their cities are changing
at a breakneck pace. Urban tension and tempo have inscribed themselves
in their art. Their art crosses their familiar with fresh, new
elements and mixes local with international influences. The opening
exhibitions of the 7th Asia-Pacific-Weeks will be the installations
of Tadashi Kawamata and Qiu Zhijie.

Kosmopolit, Polyglott, Grenzgänger: Gemeinsam mit Nuruddin
Farah, der als Anwärter auf den Literaturnobelpreis gilt,
und im Austausch mit wichtigen Weggefährten zeichnet LEBENSLINIEN
#2 seine biografischen und literarischen Pfade nach. Farah
liest zur Eröffnung aus seinem brandneuen Roman "Netze".
Eindringlich schildert er die hoch komplexe Situation in seinem
Geburtsland Somalia.

Ein Abend für Poesiegenießer und Poetry-Artisten:
Welche literarischen Wege gehen junge Wortkünstler aus Somalia?
Wie nah stehen sie der somalischen Tradition rhythmischer Dichtkunst?
Welche Worträume entstehen bei der Begegnung mit der Poetenszene
in Berlin? Spoken Word-Performances mit Warsan Shire (Foto) und
Kinsi Abdulleh, anschließend Open Mic-Session. Gehostet
von Tanja Dückers und Jan Kage aka Yaneq. Vorher geht es
in Somali Writing and Beyond darum, was junge afrikanische
Autoren bewegt.

die Filmspulen mit Conversations on a Sunday Afternoon

wir in einem Gespräch mit Nuruddin Farah, Binyavanga Wainaina
(Foto) und Susan Arndt, wie afrikanische Literaturen heute wahrgenommen
werden. Wer nimmt sie überhaupt wahr? Wann richtet sich
der Blick auf sie? Welche Konventionen lesen mit? In Maps:
Schriftsteller im Exil und Kosmopoliten sprechen danach Nuruddin
Farah und Abdulrazak Gurnah von ihren Erfahrungen im Exil und
ihrer Suche nach Ausdrucksformen für das Vermitteln zwischen
den Welten.

the likely candidate for the Nobel Prize for Literature Nuruddin
Farah, LEBENSLINIEN #2 explores his biographical and literary
paths in an exchange with friends and fellow-writers past and
present. At the opening, Farah reads from his latest novel "Knots",
where he vividly describes the highly complex and alarming situation

Conversations on a Sunday Afternoon will make the reels

gets into a conversation with Fatima. Suddenly, she disappears.
